<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplying device which reduces a data storing area vainly used by a conventional data multiplication device, to reduce the scale of a circuit and to improve power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: In a ROM 13 for multiplication coefficients, numbers unbalanced in positive and negative signs in decimal digit expressions with sign are expressed by n (n<m) bits less than m bits represented by the complement of two or an absolute value with sign, and stored as coefficient data. A multiplier 12 multiplies input data by the coefficient data stored in the ROM 13 for multiplication coefficients, and performs an n-bit arithmetic operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
