<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein or a peptide containing at least one epitope of cedar pollen allergen Cry j II, especially a T cell epitope, useful for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of allergy to cedar pollen. <P>SOLUTION: A cDNA encoding the cedar pollen allergen Cry j II is cloned and the whole amino acid sequence of the Cry j II is determined. Moreover, an overlapping peptide over the full length of the amino acid sequence is synthesized and an overlapping peptide including the T cell epitope is determined using a Cry j II cell line derived from an allergic patient to cedar pollen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
