<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the precipitation of a γ phase reducing magnetic properties at the time of synthesizing metal Fe particulates. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of producing metal particulates, powder obtained by mixing compound powder comprising the oxide powder of Fe and an element(s) X (X: Al, As, Be, Cr, Ga, Ge, Mo, P, Sb, Si, Sn, Ti, V, W, Zn) with compound powder comprising at least one selected from boron and carbon as the main element(s) is subjected to heat treatment in a nitrogen-containing atmosphere to obtain metal particulates.
