PURPOSE:To improve operability by providing a set paper type signal external output means which sends paper type signals corresponding to paper contained in all paper feed cassettes set to a picture printer to an external device. CONSTITUTION:On receiving the state signal via a printer controller 607, a CPU 601 on the information processor side checks the state signal and displays the sizes and types of paper 301 and 302 contained in the paper cassettes 110 and 120 mounted to the printer and the feasibility of a printing action on a CRT display 606. When the paper corresponding to the size of a paper to be printed, and to a desirable type are set, the input of the selective instruction of the paper feed cassette concerned is requested. On the other hand, if the corresponding paper are not set, setting the paper feed cassettes 110 and 120 concerned is requested. Thus, operability is improved. |
