METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OBJECT DETECTION IN SEQUENCES

A method and a device for detecting objects in sequences are provided to quickly detect the interest objects and find a position of the interest objects in the video sequences. A searching unit searches the desired object from an area of a frame by using a sliding window for a processing period. A measuring unit obtains measurements in the sliding window based on object definitions. A comparing unit(160) compares the measurements with values predefined to the desired object to determine whether the current window area includes the desired object. A size adjusting unit(130) selects a different size of the sliding window for each frame in the video sequence for the processing period. A storing unit(170) stores current area information if the window area includes the desired object.
