PURPOSE:To speedily calibrate sensitivity by generating an AE (acoustic emission) signal of the same level artificially in a propagation medium and checking the level of the dummy AE signal by an AE sensor for sensitivity calibration. CONSTITUTION:When a pulse signal is inputted from a pulse generating circuit 1 to a dummy AE sensor 2, the sensor 2 sends the dummy AE signal into the AE signal propagation medium 3. Then the dummy AE signal is received by the AE sensor 4 for sensitivity calibration, amplified by an amplifier 5, and inputted to an AE signal level detecting circuit 6. Then the amplifier output waveform is detected by a detecting circuit 6a and converted by a rectifying circuit 6b into a DC voltage, which is inputted to an AE signal level display part 7. Then the display part 7 commands an LED bar graph 7b to make a display corresponding to the level of the DC voltage outputted by the circuit 6b. Therefore, an operator looks at the AE signal level displayed on the graph 7b to speedily know a sensitivity decrease, etc., due to the wire breaking or deterioration of the AE sensor. |
