PURPOSE:To improve a stability under the environmental condition of high temperature and humidity by incorporating at least one coloring matter selected out of specific squarylium dyes and specific croconium dyes and a carboxylic metal complex. CONSTITUTION:A title medium incorporates at least one coloring matter selected out of squarylium dyes shown by a formula I and croconium dyes shown by a formula II and a carboxylic metal complex. In the formulas, A represents a cationic divalent orgaic residue; and B represents a monovalent organic residue. Namely, by incorporating an ampho-ion dye compound and the carboxylic metal complex having an intermolecular amphoteric counter ion effect, the dye per se is optically stabilized by the contribution of the carboxylic metal complex of an intramolecular or intermolecular ampho-ion spieces. Thus, an optical recording medium superior in resistance to light and environmental stability can be obtained. |
