发明名称 PRODUCTION OF POROUS SILICON CARBIDE MATERIAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain porous silicon carbide material excellent in electric and mechanical characteristics by calculating the amount of molten Si with which the molded body of aggregate made of SiC grains is impregnated as a binder from the distribution of pores of the above-mentioned molded body. CONSTITUTION:The micropores of the molded body of aggregate made of SiC grains are measured by a means due to a mercury porosimeter, etc. Both the amount of micropores obtained by this measurement and the amount of molten metallic silicon necessary to convert the organic carbide in the blend of a raw material into silicon carbide are obtained by calculation. Therefore, such the need is eliminated that many samples changed in the amount of impregnated silicon are manufactured and the characteristics are measured in order to obtain the optimally impregnated amount of molten metallic silicon. The impregnated amount of molten metal can be calculated. Thereby porous silicon carbide material excellent in electric and mechanical characteristics is obtained by drastically shortening the producing time.
