PURPOSE:To reduce wasteful power consumption caused by the activation of a cooling device and at the same time, reduce noise during a recording standby period by controlling the activation of a cooling device according to the recording operation. CONSTITUTION:If a recording start signal is entered by pressing a recording start key on a keyboard 1, a fan motor 30 is driven by a motor driver 25 in response to the entry action. In turn, a DC fan 6 is rotated to cool a recording head 20. In addition, 'busy' signal which indicates that a recording device 4 is now operating is output to CPU 21 from the device 4. At the same time, recording is performed by a motor driver 24, a head driver 26 and a solenoid 27 according to image information. If no record is available in a following line, the busy signal which is output from the recording device 4 stops, and the drive of the fan motor 30 is discontinued by CPU 21 through the motor driver 25. Further, the rotation of the DC fan 6 is discontinued to complete the cooling of the recording head 20. |
