<p>PURPOSE:To make possible the formation of a high-quality image outputting printing data to a serial/parallel conversion circuit consisting of (n) pieces of register which are connected to each selector of a data holding circuit and at the same time, are connected to each other for each main scanning line. CONSTITUTION:An end light-emitting EL printer 34 consists of (n) pieces of data holding circuit 371 to 37n formed by selectors 35 and shift resisters 36 connected in a loop form. In addition, these data holding circuits are connected to block electrodes 301 to 30n through drivers 281 to 28m. Further, a serial/ parallel conversion circuit 39 consisting of (n) pieces of register 381 to 38n are connected to RAM. Printing data edited by a data processing circuit 24 after being outputted from a printer controller 11 is temporarily stored in RAM 40 for each main scanning line, then is latched in a cluster of circuits 411 to 41x in accordance with a signal issued by a timing controller 17. Consequently, drivers 281 to 28m and a common driver 33 connected to the circuits 411 to 41x are synchronously controlled, and a line head 29 emits light linearly, for example, four times in succession to form an image.</p> |
