PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing lignocellulose soluble in an organic solvent without carrying out treatment with chemicals or heat application treatment. SOLUTION: The method for producing the soluble lignocellulose includes grinding a lignocellulose fiber material by a mechanical grinding means until the number average molecular weight or weight average molecular weight of the lignocellulose becomes≤10,000.
