An arc extinguishing device of a manual motor starter is provided to improve an arc extinguishing performance by preventing thermal deformation of a fixed contact carrier and a bottom plate due to an arc. An arc extinguishing device(40a, 40b) of a manual motor starter comprises an arc chamber(50), a bottom plate(60), and an insulating member(70). The arc chamber includes a plurality of magnetic plates(52) and a side wall(54). A plurality of magnetic plates is mounted in the side wall. The arc chamber extinguishes an arc generated in separation of a fixed contact point(33) and a movable contact point(36). The bottom plate is made of conductive material, and supports a bottom of the side wall. The insulating member is coupled in an end of a fixed contact point bar(32a, 32b), and blocks an arc generated between an end part of the fixed contact point bar and an end part of the bottom plate.
