The process for conditioning dry forage fibers (1-30 cm) transformed into compact cakes (10-400 g) to feed pets e.g. gerbil, where the fibers are packaged individually or grouped into blocks, comprises compressing the forage fibers to produce briquettes having a density of 0.6-1.3 kg/l and a length of 1-15 cm, cutting the briquettes (60-98%) perpendicularly in the direction of an exit of the press to obtain cakes from forage fibers, and weighing the briquettes for 10-400 g. An individual package of cake or cakes (9, 10, 11, 12, 13) is grouped side by side to form a cake block. The dry forage fibers are packed in the form of compact cake having a thickness (E) of 1-10 cm or in the form of cake blocks, and are packed in plastic film, expandable sheath, cardboard sheath, filmed tray or a paper bag. A printed label is pasted inside or outside of the package, and an envelope surrounding the cake block is printed. The step of cutting the briquettes is carried out to adjust the thickness of the cakes with respect to the briquette length. The briquettes have a cylindrical, square or rectangular shape with a diameter of 4-20 cm. The dry forage consists of grass or legume hay and plants such as Alfalfa, Plantain, Melissaor Parsley. |
