THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR TREATING TOTAL BODY CANDIDA INFECTION

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain an agent for the treatment of systemic candidiasis, composed of amphotericin B-lipid complex (ABLC) and effective by the administration of a single dose. CONSTITUTION: Candidiasis relating to inline catether, noninvasive candidal esophagitis and conjunctival candidiasis are cured by the single administration of ABLC. The effect of the single administration of ABLC is comparable or superior to the effect attained by the multiple administration of amphotericin B taking consideration of the toxicity of amphotericin B. The danger of side action can be decreased by the decrease of the amount of amphotericin B necessary for the treatment.
