PURPOSE:To sense a rear-wheel straight running position accurately by forming a cam surface on a lock plate provided with a long hole, with which a lock pin is engaged after straight run of rear wheel, and furnishing a straight run sensing switch in compliance with the position where action is made by the switching cam stage on the cam surface in the condition with rear wheel running straight. CONSTITUTION:The rear wheel steering device of a motor truck transmits the rotation of a rear drive shaft 41 to the rear wheels 54 via a Birfield joint 43, wherein a knuckle 45 is swingably coupled with the outer end of an axle housing 44, which is fitted on a shaft 41, with the aid of king pins 46, 47. The rear wheels 54 are rotatably supported on a knuckle spindle 48 formed in a single piece with the knuckle 45. The knuckle 45 is provided with a lock plate 11 extending therein, and a lock pin 12 capable of being removably inserted in a long hole 16 provided in the plate 11 is arranged on the axle housing 44 side. A cam surface 17 is furnished in a preset position on this lock plate 11, and a straight run sensing switch 13 is provided in compliance with the position where action is made at the cam step 18 of the cam surface 17 in the condition with rear wheels running straight. |
