PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type power transmission device for transmitting AC power with high efficiency.SOLUTION: A power transmission device has a power transmission face for transmitting power to a power receiving device 200, a power transmission circuit 140 for converting DC power input from a DC power source 300 to AC power, and at least one power transmission coil 112 which is provided at the power transmission face side in the power transmission device 100, contains planar coils of 2N (N represents a natural number of 2 or more) having different inductance values, and transmits AC power output from the power transmission circuit to a power receiving coil 212. The planar coils of 2 constitute coil groups in which a planar coil having an i-th highest inductance and a planar coil having an i-th lowest inductance out of the planar coils of 2N are connected to each other in series for i=1 to N, and the respective coil groups are connected to one another in parallel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
