PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cooling or heating fluid or a body by a steam-compression circuit containing heat-transfer fluid.SOLUTION: The steam-compression circuit is at least partially contained in an enclosed space, the relative humidity of the air in the enclosed space is equal to or lower than a threshold value Hwhich is 50% or less, and the flammability of the heat-transfer fluid at the relative humidity His equal to or lower than the flammability of the heat-transfer fluid at the relative humidity of 50%.
