PURPOSE: To improve safety of a driver by forming a headlight in which a positional relationship of a light source to a focal point of a reflector can be varied for changing a light distribution. CONSTITUTION: A reflector 1 is divided into sections 4, 5 on a horizontal center plane and provided with the same parabola 7. On a vertical center plane 8, a parabola 9 of the section 5 is provided with a shorter focal length than the parabola 7 on the plane 3, while a parabola 11 of the section 4 is provided with a long focal length. A light source 2 can be moved vertically along an optical axis 12 with respect to the reflector 1. A focal point F can be shifted from the position 13a on the optical axis 12 to a position 13b vertically above it, and this shift is adjusted by means of an adjusting device 14. As the reflector 1 is divide into two sections 4, 5, a lens 15 spreads a light distribution in the horizontal direction into a fan-shape. When the light source 2 is moved to the position 13b, a light distribution with a large light band width and maximum light intensity is generated, so that it is convenient in case of smog or rainy weather. |
