A rechargeable battery is disclosed. The rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly which comprises a first electrode and a second electrode, an electrode terminal which is electrically connected to the electrode assembly, a case which accommodates the electrode assembly, and a cap plate which is installed in the opening part of the case, seals the case, and has a vent hole. A fluorescent coating part is sprayed between the cap plate and the opening part of the case. Here, the fluorescent coating part may be sprayed on at least one of the inner wall surface of the opening part of the case and the lateral surface of the cap plate. So, the leakage of an electrolyte can be quickly accurately checked. |
