<p>PURPOSE: To facilitate maintenance and exchange of a sensor assembly by mounting an encoder to an inner race and the sensor assembly facing an outer race in a wheel bearing of an automobile, and by providing an output signal proportional to rotation speed of a shaft. CONSTITUTION: A bearing assembly 12 comprises a stationary outer race 20 and a rotatable inner race 30 fixed to a rotation shaft, and one of them sets two balls 40 between them and rotatably journals the inner race 30. Between the both ball 40, an encoder 60 is mounted on an O-ring 62 press fitted into an axial portion 37 of the inner race 30, and oppositely, a sensor assembly 50 is removably mounted to the outer race 20 to detect passing of the encoder 60, that is relative rotation speed of the inner race to the outer race 20. Thus, in such a simple structure, maintenance and exchange of the sensor assembly can easily be performed.</p> |
