PURPOSE: To prevent a damage easily taking place in the case of removing and replacing a chill roll by mounting the chill roll at a movable base as part of a main base as a result due to separate from the main base of an extrusion apparatus at the time of using the chill roll. CONSTITUTION: An extrusion coating apparatus has a chill roll 10 cooperated with an extrusion apparatus 11 for supplying a preformed web 13 from a film 12 of a thermoplastic material. The apparatus 11 is disposed to transfer the extruded film to a nip between rolls 10 and 15. The coated web 13 encloses an essential part of the chill roll by bringing the film 12 into contact with a surface of the roll 10, and guided from here onto an adjustable guide roller 17. In the case of an operation connected to the extrusion apparatus, or removing or replacing the chill roll, or refinishing or preserving, the roll 10 is supported to a base movable by itself in the form of a transfer base 40 with wheels. As a result, a damage easily taken place at the chill roll can be prevented. |
