PURPOSE:To restrain internal short circuit and to prevent an insulating defect and a voltage defect after assembly by forming a heat-resistant, electrolyte resistant rubber thin layer in a specified ratio on the surface of a positive plate. CONSTITUTION:A thin film 2e of heat-resistant, electroyte-resistant rubber such as fluororubber and silicone rubber is formed on the surface of a positive plate 2 in a ratio of 0.08-6.0g/cm<2>. The strength of a positive mix 2b is increased and coming off of the mix component can be prevented and fine powder or broken pieces of the mix stuck to the surface the positive mix 2b are captured. This prevents a separator from breakage or the entrance of these foreign matters into its micropores in the material of the separator. The internal short circuit of a battery can be then restrained and an insulating defect and voltage defect after assembly can be prevented.
