<p>PURPOSE: To enhance pump efficiency by constructing a valve which throttles the opening of a low-temperature pumping device from N vanes radially arranged, and rotating the Nth vane externally while opening or closing the remaining vanes in an interlocking manner. CONSTITUTION: The throttle valve of a cryogenic pump has a plurality of rotating shims 21, 22, 23... disposed to be rotatably connected together along the inner peripheral surface of an annular flange 11, with radial vanes 31, 32, 33... coupled to the respective rotating shims 21, 22, 23.... Tips 41, 42, 43... at the center ends of the rotating shims 21, 22, 23... are rotatably held against a hub 45. When fluid pressure is supplied to the fluid connection 55 or 57 of an actuator 51 or when a plunger 53 is operated using a hand-operated stab 63, the shims 21, 22, 23... rotate accordingly to open or close the vanes 31, 32, 33... so that the adjacent vanes rotate in opposite directions. Thus in a fully closed state, the passage of gas is surely shut off, while in a fully open state as much of pressure loss as possible can be eliminated.</p> |
