PURPOSE:To keep the operation precision at the time of the operation which uses the division result as the next dividend by providing an omission object bit reference rounding processing part which obtains plural kinds of result and can properly select them with respect to rounding processing carry discrimination. CONSTITUTION:Upper two or more bits (all bits if necessary) of omission bits lower than significant digits in a division result 3 are led to an omission object bit reference rounding processing part 5, and one discrimination result properly selected from discrimination results corresponding to conditions of >=0.25, >=0.5, >=0.75... is obtained as the condition which determines whether rounding processing carry should be executed or not. A carry propagation processing part 6 propagates carry to bits in significant digits and outputs a rounded divi sion result 7 as the output. Thus, the operation precision is kept at the time of the operation which uses the division result as the next dividend. |
