PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance of a laser dull-worked roll by heating a roll below tempering temp., irradiating it with a laser beam and adding ruggedness on the surface of roll after the hardness of roll is made into a prescribed hardness. CONSTITUTION:After a roll for cold rolling which is made into a roll shape by the conventional method is made in the hardness of above 750 Hv with the quenching treating and tempering at high temp., in the case dull work is applied on the surface of roll, ruggedness is added on the surface of roll after the roll is heated below tempering temp.. The wear resistance of the part with out dull-working can be secured and also the hardness of tempered layer can be made over 700Hv. A steel which 0.7 - 1.5C, 0.5 - 1.2 Si, 0.3 - 1 Mn, 4 - 13 Cr, 0.6 - 4 Mo and 0.3 - 3 V by wt.% are contained is used. The wear resistance of laser dull-worked roll and the ruggedness maintenance of the plate surface of stock to be rolled can be improved. |
