[Also in Division B2] An enclosure 1 for a spraying system 18 which spray coats objects, e.g. spraying wax . or vinyl and phenolic resins on to printed matter on sheets 5, includes an air conditioning system for circulating air through the enclosure and separating liquid droplets entrained therein from air before the air is exhausted. A heaterseparator 70 having a plurality of tortuous passageways 71, controllably heated by circulating hot air, and arranged upstream of a filter covered air outlet 77 which is under the control of a suction fan 76 constitutes the air conditioning system. The cover section 10 of the enclosure is heated by thermostatically controlled heaters 13, is curved, and is provided with troughs 30 for controlling the drainage of liquid on the cover. The sheets 5 are conveyed on spiked conveyers 15, 20 past a plurality of spray heads 55 extending the width of the enclosure and fed from reservoirs 36. Each head 55 has a central liquid outlet and a surrounding annular air discharge outlet fed from an air source through filter 60 and a heating arrangement.</p> |
