[Also in Division D1] A series of intermittent rotations of threaded rod 64 is used to cause rightward movement of an inter-engaging non-rotating half nut 76 and hollow shaft 17. On completion of a predetermined amount of rightward movement, the nut 76 is disengaged from the rod and a compression spring 65 pushes the nut 76 and hollow shaft 17 back to the left. The nut is pressed against the rod by spring 77. The nut is disengaged from the rod by rotating the hollow shaft 17. This shaft is half cut away to house the nut and the remaining half portion of the shaft pivots the nut about pin 75a so that it disengages the threaded rod, see also Fig. 6, not shown. |
