In a diaphragm spring clutch the inner periphery of the spring 8 is formed with recesses 8a to produce a series of radial tongues 10. As shown, the recesses 8a are rectangular with rounded corner portions 8b, but they may be of semi-elliptical shape. The recesses promote the flow of cooling air over the spring and adjacent parts. The release levers 16 are engaged by U- springs 22 with end coils mounted on the ends of the lever pivot pins 13 and engaging recessed support lugs 11 bent out from the cover-plate 3. |
