<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a food container with excellent heat resistance, which can bear well deforming external pressure by a method wherein a mixed film or sheet of high-impact polystyrene and polyphenylene ether is pressure vacuum formed to constitute an article storage container. CONSTITUTION:It is preferable to make the mixing ratio of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) and polyphenylene ether (PPE) to be approximate 95 - 50 (wt.%) for HIPS and approximate 5 - 50% for PPE, and from economic viewpoint, it is more preferable to make the ratio to be approximate 95 - 85% for HIPS and approximate 5 - 15% for PPE. When PPE is less than approximate 5%, sufficient heat resistance cannot be displayed, and when it is more than approximate 50%, protrusions or recesses as a container are hard to be formed, and the moldability becomes unfavorable, and also cost of raw materials becomes expensive. In order to further improve impact resistance, it is effective to mix styrene-butadiene block copolymer.</p> |
