[Also in Divisions E2 and F2] A wheel chock construction (see Division F2) for a motor vehicle transporter is detachably connectible to a single guide and retaining rail 1 mounted on the transporter and the wheel chock comprises a rod 4 supported at one end on a shoe-shaped guide member 5 slidable on the guide and retaining rail 1 and at the other end on a foot-rest 6, cross-bracing 7, 14 connecting the bar 4 to a plate 11 to serve as a bearing for a pedal member 10 which is adapted to release a spring-loaded locking pin 8 from one of a series of apertures 3 in the guide and retaining rail 1. The pedal 10 can be locked in the disengaged position by being positioned laterally so that a recess 15 in the pedal engages the plate 11 to keep the locking pin 8 in its disengaged position until the pedal is pivoted in the operated direction to release the pedal and allow the spring-urged pin 8 to engage one of the apertures 3 in the guide and retaining rail 1. The flange of the guide and retaining rail may be divided into portions 1a-1e inclusive which are inclined in opposite directions alternatively in the manner of sawteeth. |
