PURPOSE:To perform good and stable recording by supplying ink reduced in the content of dissolved air by constituting a filter so as to be capable of heating the liquid in a liquid supply passage. CONSTITUTION:A filter 11 is formed from a material capable of generating heat by the supply of current such as a porous sintered body, for example, composed of stainless steel and a current is allowed to flow across electrodes 11a, 11b to heat the filter 11. When the ink supplied from an ink supply source contains much dissolved air, the ink is heated in the vicinity of the filter 11 raised in temp. and, when the concn. of the saturated dissolved air in the heated ink becomes lower than that of the dissolved air present in the ink, excessive dissolved air is discharged to a chamber 13 as air bubbles. The air bubbles generated in the chamber 13 are bonded to the surface of the filter or the inner wall of a filter unit until they grow sufficiently. The air bubbles accumulated in the chamber 13 are discharged from a communication pipe 14 at a certain definite cycle. |
