[Also in Divisions F1 and F2] A pipe connector 16, having a check valve 22 and for introducing liquid into the hydraulic chamber 15 of an oleo-pneumatic pressure accumulator 10, is sealed in the latter by means of a distortable ring 18 which comprises a continuous annulus of elastomeric material 25 and an annular frame formed by at least two independent rigid segments 26, 27, the elastomeric annulus, which is joined to the segments, being formed with slits 29 which prolong the gaps 28 between the segments so that the ring 18 can be folded about a diametrical axis and passed through the opening 11 for receiving the connector 16, and can be unfolded within the accumulator. The ring 18 is located between the interior of the container 10 and a flange 17 on the connector 16 which is associated with a sealing ring 20 and a locking nut 21. The slits 29 in the annulus of elastomeric material 25 can be formed by means of saw cuts passing through the gaps 28. In a moulding process, Fig. 5, partitions 30, of greater height than the rigid segments 26, 27, are arranged in a mould 31 to provide the gaps 28 and slits 29 after moulding. A cover 32 also provides a core for the mould. |
