An electromagnetic contactor having two mutually attracted linked armatures 1, 1<SP>1</SP> has four identical slide members 6, 6<SP>1</SP> and two of these members are coupled to each armature with the slide members interfitted in pairs, one of each pair being driven by each armature, to act as stops which limit the separation of the armatures. The slide members 6, 6<SP>1</SP> have rounded ends fitting in recesses 5 in the armatures and are retained on pins 11 of stirrup members 10. Each member 10 has a pin 12 which engages in a slot 13 in a respective lever 14 on a shaft 15. The two shafts 15 are rotated, when the armatures attract each other, so that levers 16 extending therefrom move a contact carrier 17. Ribs 20 on the slide members 6, 6<SP>1</SP> engage and slide in slots 21 in the housing 3 and cover 4 which retain the parts in position.</p> |
