[Also in Division D1] Sheets are fed to and through an embossing or corrugating machine having reciprocating platens 1, 2, Fig. 1, by gripper bars 4, Figs. 1 and 2, on intermittently movable endless chains 3, the leading edge being registered at a receiving position 12 and a working position 5. At the receiving position, a bar 4 is registered by grasping between jaws 18, 19 actuated by cam means which also move a bar 28 in the direction 36, before the bar 4 is grasped, so as to swing a guide rail 15 and slacken the chain. In position 5, the chains move slightly further than necessary to bring the sheet against a rising abutment 13, and a spring 14 allows a slight return movement to registered position.</p> |
