1,165,551. Concrete mixers. GIBSON READYMIXED CONCRETE Ltd., and G. J. GALLAGHER. 12 Sept., 1967 [21 Sept., 1966], No. 42053/66. Heading B1C. [Also in Division B8] A concrete mixer vehicle has a body for dry mixed materials comprising a single or divided hopper 4 with a plurality of horizontal sliding discharge doors 11 each actuated by a ram 17 shielded by an angle member 18 to which is attached a vibrator 19. Material is discharged on to the trough-shaped upper run 23 of a belt conveyer which rests on horizontal rollers 24 and inclined rollers 29. When a door 11 opens the rollers 24 thereunder are raised by capsule rams 26 to control the material on the belt to a depth which will clear more rearward doors (see Figs. 1 and 2, not shown). The belt conveyor discharges at the rear of the vehicle into a pivotable mixer having a flexible trough 32, and a rotatable mixing shaft with paddles 37 and a discharge screw 35; water is delivered from a pipe 39 at a rate controlled by (a) a balance 44 which senses the weight of material on the belt conveyer passing over a roller 45 and (b) moisture probes 46. The belt conveyer and mixer are driven by hydraulic motors 31, 36. |
