Useful for the heat treatment of metal objects, e.g. of carbon steels or rustless steels, the furnace has: (a) a casing, the interior of which is kept under vacuum during heating; (b) a heating zone kept at a predetermined temp.; (c) a conveying device for the workpieces; (d) a mechanism to move the supporting assembly to and from the heating zone at predetermined intervals; (e) an internal device for chilling the workpieces, and (f) a mechanism for conveying the charge to the chilling zone after leaving the heating zone and without leaving the vacuum. |
