Electrolytic grinding of hard metals

Electrolyte comprises 10-150g potassium or sodium nitrite, 0.5-50 g potassium or sodium nitrate, 0.5-50g di-sodium tetraborate, 0.5-50g potassium sodium tartrate, 0.5-50g glycerine or glycols, 0.1-50g potassium or sodium hydroxide, 0.0-10g potassium lauryl sulphate to one liter water. The composition can additionally contain 0.1 to 14 g/l H2O tertiary sodium phosphate. Use relates to grinding hard metals consisting of diamond-hard temperature resistant carbide powders, such as tungsten carbide, titanium carbide molybdenum carbide, tantalum carbide etc.
