A machine for harvesting crop growing in rows wherein each row is fed between adjacent dividing members, is provided with dividers which are adjustable vertically with respect to a cutting mechanism and operable by a seated driver. Each divider 9 is pivoted at a point forward of the cutter bar 2 and vertically adjusted by two arms 14 pivotally supported on connecting beam 13 of the divider. Each arm is resiliently limited in the upward direction by means of a spring 16A located in a guide tube 15. Each of the tubes 15 is provided with a bearing 17 holding the rod 18. Near the centre of the platform the rod 18 is provided with an arm coupled to a Bowden cable 20 operable from the driver's seat. The cable further extends to connecting beam 22 secured between the arms 14 on the central dividing member. Shortening the cable causes arms 14 to be drawn into guides 15 and shaft 18 to rotate such that, via rods 23 pivotally connected between shaft 24 and rod 18, the outer dividers respond to adjustment. |
