In a combined direction indicator switch and headlamp flashing and dip switch according to the parent Specification in which a U-shaped spring contact 50 (for headlamp or dipped light) is moved towards or away from fixed contacts 30 by a cam 24 on successive pivotal movements of the actuating lever 6 about axis 5, a slidable member 52 is arranged on the contact 50 for engagement by the cam 24. The member 52 has cantilever arms 55, Fig. 6, engaging around the shaft 22 to maintain the member 52 in alignment with the cam 24. The contact 50 is one of a pair (50, 51), Fig. 2 (not shown), separately associated with the head lights and dipped lights and operated in alternate succession by a pair of cams 24. Intermittent rotation of the cams 24 is caused by a ratchet and pawl mechanism comprising a projection 40 on a resilient extension 10 of a member 4 rocked by the actuating lever 6 and engaging notches 56 a square section cam 23. Resilient arm 11 as described in the parent Specification locates the square cam 23 in each of its four positions. A further spring contact 29 for headlight flashing is also provided and is actuated by a projection 13 on the actuating member 4 during an initial small movement as described in the parent Specification. |
