In a timing device - for a fuel injection system as described in Specification 1,192, 201, wherein at the beginning of an injection period an RC circuit R1, C2 is energized and a uni-junction transistor 4 produces a pulse to stop the injection when the voltage of its emitter reaches a certain value which is dependent upon the capacitance of C2, -there, is provided a capacitor 5 which can be selectively switched manually e.g. by a vehicle driver, to change the capacitance of the RC circuit and thus the length of the injection period. With C5 switched in parallel with C2 the richness of the mixture is increased and maximum power output is available. The absence of C5 in parallel corresponds to minimum fuel consumption and minimum air pollution by the exhaust. |
