Aqueous solns. contain ammonium or amine salts of partial reaction products of low. mol. telogen-contg. copolymers of vinyl-aromatic hydrocarbons with olefinically unsatd. carboxylic acids which have been esterified with (a) unsatd. long chain monohydric alcohols and/or with hydroxyalkyl esters of unsatd. fatty acids, and (b) with an at least trihydric alcohol, characterised in that instead of, or together with, esterification component (a) above the material(s) reacted are (c) alkanolamides of unsatd. fatty acids and/or (d) oxazolines of unsatd. fatty acids. The telomer may be a styrene-maleic anhydride telomer contg. 10 wt.% cumene as telogen, and it may be esterified with a soybeam oil fatty acid monoethanolamide. Trimethylpropane is added. The resin obtained is dissolved with ethyleneglycolmonobutylether, dimethylaminoethanol and water.
