1,229,983. Isocyanurate polymeric foams. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 27 Jan., 1969 [16 Feb., 1968], No. 7772/68. Addition to 1,146,661. Headings C3C and C3R. Stabilized rigid polymeric foams having an isocyanurate ring structure are made by reacting an organic polyisocyanate with a mixture of a catalyst for the polymerization of isocyanates, a blowing agent and a sterically hindered phenol. In the examples the foams were made by reacting diphenylmethane diisocyanate with a mixture of trichlorofluoromethane, diethylene glycol adipate, an ethylene oxide /propylene oxide block copolymer, a siloxaneoxyalkylene copolymer, trischloropropyl phosphate, 1,4-diazabicyclo (2,2,2) octane, N,N-dimethylcyclohexylamine, potassium acetate and a number of hindered phenols, together with thioesters and phosphites. |
