A coupling for joining a flexible tube 11 to a tube 10, e.g. of metal, plastics or glass, comprises a collar 12 mounted around the tube 10 over which the end of the tube 11 is fitted and a collar 14 fitted around the end of the tube 11 intermediate the edge 15 thereof and the collar 12; the collar 14 has an opening smaller than the diameter of the tube 11 around the collar 12. The latter as shown, is an elastomeric 0-ring which may be received in a groove 13. The collar 14 may be provided with projecting teeth to lightly engage the tube. Fluid pressure within the tube 11 is exerted against the collar 12 which is urged towards the collar 14. In a modification, the collar 12 is retained against the flared end of the tube 10. |
