Resin binders for stoving enamels are made by (i) esterifying a polyetherglycol HO(R-O)nH (I) where R = >= 3C alkyl grp. and n > 2 with a 2x molar amt. of a monoethylenically unsatd. dicarboxylic acid or anhydride (II), (ii) esterifying the dicarboxylic acid formed with a 2x molar amt. of a glycidyl ester of an, alpha,alpha-dialkyl substituted carboxylic acid (III) where R1, R2 and R3 = alkyl grps., and (iii) copolymerising the unsatd. diester formed with an ethylenically unsatd. polymerisable cpd.
