The invention comprises dyes free from SO 3 H groups of formula wherein D is an aromatic-carbocyclic or -heterocyclic radical, R 1 and R 2 are alkyl which may be substituted, X is halogen, alkoxy or -N(R 3 )R 4 wherein R 3 and R 4 are H or alkyl which may be substituted and Y is alkoxy which may be substituted or -N(R 3 )R 4 . The dyes are prepared by coupling a diazotized amine D-NH 2 with an appropriate 3 - triazinylamino - N 1 N- dialkyl-aniline. The dyes may be used to colour synthetic fibres in particular cellulose ester, polyester and polyamide fibres in orange and red shades. |
