1304805 Herbicides containing triazines/ thiocarbamates GULF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 20616/71 Heading A5E A stable, water-dispersible liquid weed control composition consists of: (a) from 10 to 75 parts by weight of a liquid S-alkyl or S-alkenyl thiocarbamate herbicide (b) from 5 to 25 parts by weight of an unsymmetrical 2, 4, 6-trisubstituted S-triazine herbicide of the general structural formula: in which X is chloro, alkoxy or alkylmercapto, Y is cyclopropylamino, propylamino, allylamino, butylamino, or cyclohexylamino, and Z is branched or secondary alkylamino, dialkylamino or cyclohexylamino, with the provision that Z must be different from Y, (c) at least 5 weight percent of the total composition as at least one surface active agent sufficient to assure water dispersibility, and (d) at least one-third by weight of the total composition as isophorone or N-methylpyrrolidone or a mixture thereof to maintain the composition in stable water-dispersible liquid form. The preferred herbicides are 2-chloro- 4-cyclopropylamino - 6 - isopropylamino - s - triazine and S - ethyl - N,N - di (ethyl, propyl or isobutyl) thiocarbamate or S-propyl-N,N- dipropylthiocarbamate. |
