The liquid or gaseous fuel supply to a modulating burner 3 of a space heating system, is controlled by adjustment member 14 in response to adjustable room thermostat 19, or a thermally actuated draught sensor 20 located in a measuring tube 25 extending between the burner inlet zone 1a and a combustion gas flue 4, which ever is tending to restrict the fuel supply the most. Variations in either of these quantities are transmitted to the member 14 through liquid filled capillary tubes 17, 18; an increase in the room temperature tending to decrease the fuel supply, whilst an increase in the draught available tends to increase it. The variation in position of fuel adjustment member 14 is itself transmitted through mechanical linkage 31 to draught regulator 6 to so vary its angular setting through adjusting pin 29 that it is more sensitive to variations in draught at low fuel supply rates and less sensitive to such draught variations at higher fuel supply rates. |
