A coated web suitable for the manufacture of sacks and bale-wraps comprises a woven layer made by inter-weaving tapes made from a crystalline polyolefine having a continuous coating thereon containing at least 10% by weight of the same crystalline olefine polymer and at least 40% of low density polyethylene. The crystalline polyolefine may be polypropylene, high density polyethylene, poly-4-methylpentene-1 and poly-3-ethyl butene. The tapes may be uniaxially or biaxially oriented. The coating may be applied by extrusion or meltroll coating. |
