PURPOSE:To form a thermal transfer sheet excellent in preservability by providing a dye layer consisting of a modified cellulosic resin obtained by reacting a hydroxyl group-containing cellulosic resin with isocyanates and a dye on a base material film. CONSTITUTION:A binder composed of an urethane modified cellulosic resin obtained by reacting and bonding a hydroxyl group-containing cellulosic resin and isocyanates, dye and, if necessary, a sensitizer and other additives are compounded to be dissolved or dispersed in a proper org. solvent to prepare a coating solution. This coating solution is applied to a base material film by a means such as a photogravure printing method and dried to form a dye layer to prepare a thermal transfer sheet. As the hydroxyl group-containing cellulosic resin, acetyl cellulose with a degree of acetylation of 2.0 - 2.9 is pref. As the sensitizer, a low m.p. compound with an MW of 100 - 1500 is pref. |
