A machine tool with four equidistant work spindles rotatable in a carrier which is indexible about a horizontal axis. Two stations at which the spindles dwell between successive indexing movements of the carrier are accessible from the front side of the frame and each of the remaining two stations accommodates one or more movable tool holders for a variety of tools. All of the stations are located at different levels.
